Installing ARCS for GIS for Geomedia 6.1 with Windows 7 or Vista 64 bit systems

This note sets out the steps and sequence for installing ARCS for GIS for Geomedia with Windows 7 and Windows Vista 64 bit operating systems.
The following is the recommended sequence for installing ARCS for GIS for Geomedia on Windows 7 or Windows Vista 64 bit operating systems.

(1) Install Geomedia 6.1.
(2) Install Geomedia hotfix.
(3) Load the ARCS for GIS CD version 1.8.3 with Arcsloader DLL version 1.8.0.4 or mount the disk image to a drive. This software is available here.
(4) Using the Explorer window, right click on Autorun and select ‘run as administrator’.
(5) From the installation menu, install the ARCS for GIS Maintenance Application and the ARCS for GIS Viewer.
(6) On 64 bit operating systems, now install the new ARCS for GIS Hasp DLL as follows:
(6.1) Download the new Hasp DLL from here and unzip the files.
(6.2) Activate the Administrator user as follows:
(6.2.1) Run the command prompt as administrator (right click on it as select ‘run as administrator’)
(6.2.2) At the command line, type net user administrator /active:yes
(6.3) Switch user and log in as Administrator
(6.4) Go to c:\program files (x86)\common files\intelliscan and rename the file isslc.dll to isslc_orig.dll
(6.5) Copy the new DLL to c:\program files (x86)\common files\intelliscan and rename it to isslc.dll
(6.6) Register the new DLL:
(6.6.1) Start a new command prompt which will be running as Administrator
(6.6.2) Type the command regsvr32 “c:\program files (x86)\common files\intelliscan\isslc.dll
(6.7) Log off Administrator
(6.8) Log back in as your local user
(6.9) In the command prompt that’s still on the screen deactivate the Administrator user with the command net user administrator /active:no
(7) Install the HASP driver from the ARCS for GIS installation disk
(8) Install the ARCS for GIS menus from the installation disk
(9) Exit the ARCS for GIS installer and run Geomedia
